Mamissima Mother & Child boutique was opened in September 2008 by Susan Hutter and Lolita Colenso. Armed with the philosophy that women should look and feel beautiful during pregnancy Susan and Lolita have materialised this philosophy into a lifestyle boutique offering every expectant mother stylish and fashionable maternity wear alongside gorgeous baby products and all other beautiful essentials for all stages of pregnancy, post pregnancy and beyond.
Large part of their success is based on entrepreneurial instinct, unforgotten desire to look stylish and sexy whilst pregnant, and drive to create. Susan and Lolita have four kids between them, both were pregnant almost at the same time and it was then the idea of a maternity boutique was conceived. Pregnancy clothes in Brighton stores were frumpy and not at all fashionable, buying online was a bit of a disaster, and London seemed a long way away. Pregnant friends complained about been forced to go for nine month with nothing beautiful and stylish to wear. So when Mamissima opened its doors, Susan and Lolita set out to give pregnant women the chance to buy the same kind of stylish and fashionable, as well as fitted clothing they were used to buying before they became pregnant, and so promoting pregnancy as an exciting, even sexy time in these women's lives and baby section has become an important part of the whole experience.

Susan and Lolita believe that the emotional and physical aspects of pregnancy can best be understood and catered for by women who have experienced pregnancy.
